Privacy policy

Last updated: 20 September 2026

The short version. MyMoooolah collects no personal data. It makes no network requests at all, so there is nothing for it to send and nowhere for it to send it. Everything you enter stays in the app, on your device, until you choose to export it.

Who this policy is from

MyMoooolah is published by Mike Clifford, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. If you have a question about privacy, email supernova_6@hotmail.co.uk.

This policy covers the MyMoooolah iPhone app and this website.

What the app stores, and where

Everything you enter is held on your device. The app stores your records in a local database on the device (Apple’s SwiftData), and your preferences in the app’s own settings store (UserDefaults). Neither is shared with me or anyone else.

That includes the figures you would expect a budgeting app to hold:

  • Your budget: income, recurring bills, spending categories and the amount you set aside
  • Account names and the balances you enter yourself
  • Transactions you type in or import, and bill payments you mark
  • Subscriptions, sinking funds, assets, liabilities and net worth history
  • Your preferences: theme, light or dark, currency, household name and payday

What the app does not do

  • It makes no network requests. The app contains no networking code of any kind.
  • No account and no sign-in. There is nothing to register for.
  • No cloud sync. The app does not use iCloud or any other server.
  • No analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, no tracking.
  • No third-party code. The app has no third-party software libraries or SDKs at all.
  • No bank connection. The app never asks for, and cannot use, your banking credentials.
  • No permission prompts. The app does not ask for access to your camera, photos, contacts, location, microphone, calendar or health data, because it never uses any of them.

On the App Store, MyMoooolah’s privacy label reads “Data Not Collected”. That label is accurate and matches this policy.

When data leaves your device

Only when you ask it to, and only to a destination you choose:

  • Export to CSV and Back up hand a file to iOS so you can save or share it. You pick where it goes.
  • Importing a bank statement works the other way: you choose a CSV file, and it is read and processed entirely on your phone. Nothing about it is transmitted.

Nothing runs on a timer, on launch, or in the background. No data is written anywhere outside the app until you pick a destination yourself.

One thing worth knowing. If you save a backup to iCloud Drive, or if your iPhone is included in an iCloud or computer backup, a copy of that data reaches Apple’s servers. That happens because of the choice you made and under Apple’s terms, not through the app — but it is worth being aware of.

Deleting your data

Two ways, both entirely in your hands:

  • In the app: Settings → Erase all data, which deletes every record the app holds.
  • Delete the app from your iPhone, which removes its database and settings with it.

Because I never receive your data, there is nothing for me to delete on your behalf.

My role under data protection law

Your in-app data is never transmitted to me and I have no means of accessing it, so for that data I am not a data controller. You hold it, on your own device.

There is one exception, and it is worth stating plainly: if you email me, I process that email. I receive your email address and whatever you write, held in my mailbox, used only to reply to you and to fix the problem you have reported. The lawful basis is legitimate interests — answering a support request from someone who asked for help. I do not use it for marketing, and I do not pass it to anyone else. I delete support correspondence when it is no longer needed.

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR you have rights of access, correction, erasure, portability and objection. Here is how each one works in practice for this app:

  • Access and portability — your data is already in your hands. Use Export to CSV or Back up in Settings to take a copy in an open format.
  • Correction — edit any figure directly in the app.
  • ErasureSettings → Erase all data, or delete the app.
  • Anything about your emails to me — just ask, and I will tell you what I hold and delete it if you want.

I cannot answer a subject access request for your budget, because I have never received it. That is not an evasion — it is the whole design.

Children

MyMoooolah is rated suitable for all ages. It is not directed at children, and it collects no information from anyone, children included.

Security and retention

Your data sits inside the app’s own storage on your iPhone, protected by your device’s passcode and Apple’s device encryption. I hold no copy of it, so there is nothing on my side to secure, to retain, or to lose in a breach. It is kept for as long as you keep it, and goes when you erase it.

This website

This site is a set of static pages hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes standard request information — including your IP address, the page requested and your browser’s user agent — in server logs, in order to serve the site and keep it running.

Beyond that, this site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads no third-party scripts, fonts or images. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date at the top. The date above is the current version.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how I have handled your personal data, please email me first so I can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority. In the UK that is the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk; in the EU it is the data protection authority for the country you live in.

Questions about any of this?

Email me and I will answer.
